Scuba Diving

“I am but a single drop… but together we make an ocean”

My love of the ocean began at an early age on the shores of Swanage. As a child, the sensation of waves breaking over my head filled me with delight and a feeling of vitality and freedome that has stayed with me ever since.

In 2002 I completed an Open Water Scuba Diving Course at Swanage Pier and was immediately captivated by the amazing sea creatures and breathtaking scenery. The underwater world filled me with a sense of awe, wonder and tranquility.

The ocean is often described as’the lungs of the earth,’ as it is responsible for producing 70% of the world’s oxygen, regulating our planet’s climate, and sustaining billions of people in their daily lives, yet only 3% of its area is protected. It is our planet, our future, our responsibility and our time to get involved in it’s protection.

My love of the sea runs deep and my passion lies in underwater photography. For me, the creatures that inhabit the depths are the true ‘jewels of the ocean’ and I love exploring this breathtaking, submerged world.

As an ambassador of the ocean, I am committed to marine life protection and passionate about sharing my experiences with others. I invite you to join me in exploring the magic of the ocean I hope you’ll join me and dive in!

Photo Skills

“There is nothing quite as amazing as nature”

I had my first experience with underwater photography during a shore dive in 2017. It was thrilling experience and added another dimension to scuba diving I’d never imagined; the ability to capture and share the beauty of the ocean with others.

My dream to become an underwater photography instructor came true in September 2019. I could finally start teaching underwater photography to beginners to help develop their skills.

Capturing the beauty of the ocean through images is rewarding and I love helping others get to grips with their compact cameras. However, becoming a proficient underwater photographer requires more than just a good camera – To be a good underwater photographer and not cause any damage the environment, you need excellent buoyancy skills, patience and practice. The use of controlled finning techniques including helecopter turns, back-finning and frog-kick help avoid disturbing the wildlife.
